Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
148 AM CDT Fri Oct 2 2026

.DISCUSSION...

A cold front has dropped south of central Illinois leaving a
modest north to northeast breeze in its wake today. A few showers
will linger mainly south of the I-70 corridor through around
midday. Otherwise, drier air will gradually work into the area
today with dew points dropping into the mid 40s to upper 50s from
the north. Mixing in excess of 2500 ft areawide will combine with
winds to result in Fair vent rates this afternoon. Fair weather
will prevail Saturday with a light east wind in place.
