.DISCUSSION...
Much of central Illinois will remain snow covered this weekend. The
exception will be southeast of I-70 where much of the snow has melted.
Light snow will spread into the IL river valley during mid to late
evening, and over the rest of central IL during late evening and early
overnight. The light snow will be mixed with freezing drizzle at times,
and the wintry mix will diminish during mid and late Sunday morning.
Between 1 and 3 inches of snow is possible north of a Burlington Iowa to
Peoria to Pontiac line with less than 1 inch south. Patchy drizzle may
linger in southeast IL Sunday afternoon with breezy north to northwest
winds bringing in colder air. Dry conditions return to the area Sunday
night through Tuesday. Light winds prevail on Monday with breezy south
to southwest on Tuesday warming temperatures closer to normal.
Ventilations rates are forecast to be poor this afternoon through
Tuesday due to relatively low mixing heights of 1500 to 2000 feet.
