.DISCUSSION...
Northwest winds continue today with gusts around 20 mph. Scattered
thunderstorms (20-30% coverage) will develop late afternoon into
the evening. These will be capable of producing isolated strong
wind gusts over 40 mph. Ventilation remains very good today, but
will start to decrease in the coming days as building high
pressure results in weakening winds. After today, the next chance
of precipitation is not until Friday afternoon (west of I-55) or
Saturday (area-wide). Rainfall amounts from this system do not
look particularly heavy, generally less than a quarter inch.
