Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
333 AM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, continuing
into Tuesday, however coverage of wetting rains will likely not be
widespread. Average amounts look to be under a half inch for most
areas from I-72 northward, with amounts closer to an inch more
common close to I-70 and southward. Winds will begin to shift to
northerly this evening northwest of the Illinois River, and
throughout central and southeast IL by Tuesday evening as a cold
front traverses the area. Ventilation rates will be poor to fair
the next two days.
