Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
150 PM CST Sat Nov 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Southwest winds gusting to 30 mph ahead of a cold front this afternoon
in southeast IL will shift to NW and gradually diminish overnight, with
winds expected to be NW closer to 10 mph Sunday as high pressure
approaches the area. Winds will be light and variable under this high
pressure Sunday night into Monday, returning from the SE Monday as
a weather system approaches, that will likely bring light rain around
a tenth to quarter inch Monday night into Tuesday, as well as a few
thunderstorms, mainly south of I-72. Ventilation will be Fair to Poor
Sunday, and worsen Monday as lighter transport winds develop. Relative
humidity will lower to 20 to 25 percent Sunday afternoon and again
Monday afternoon, but light winds and cooler temperatures will limit
fire weather concerns.
