Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon through tonight. These storms may be strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts, large hail, and locally heavy rainfall. The most likely time for severe storms is from 5 pm to midnight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Additional thunderstorms will develop along a cold front Wednesday afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a tornado or two will be possible. The most likely location for initial storm development Wednesday afternoon will be east of the Illinois River. A period of hot and humid weather is expected by the end of the week. High temperatures in the lower to mid 90s will create heat index values in excess of 100 degrees each afternoon Saturday through Monday. This may cause heat related illness for those without effective cooling, especially for sensitive individuals. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed from 5 PM to midnight today.
