318 PM CDT Tue Jun 17 2025

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois and west
central Illinois.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms are forecast this evening through tonight.
The strongest of these storms may produce a localized damaging wind
gust, while any storm will carry a risk for heavy rain leading to
flooding of urban or low lying areas. The most likely time for
severe storms is from 5 pm to midnight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Additional thunderstorms will develop along a cold front late
Wednesday morning into the afternoon. Damaging wind gusts, large
hail, and even a tornado are each risks, with the highest chances for
severe weather east of the IL River.

A period of hot and humid weather is expected by the end of the
week. High temperatures in the lower to mid 90s will create heat
index values in excess of 100 degrees each afternoon Saturday
through Monday. This will increase the risk for heat related illness
for those without effective cooling, especially for sensitive
individuals.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed from 5 pm to midnight this evening.

Expected storm motion is toward the northeast around 20 mph.
