...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SANGAMON AND MORGAN COUNTIES
THROUGH 1130 PM CDT...

At 1036 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Sherman to near Pleasant Plains to
Literberry. Movement was south at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Springfield, Jacksonville, Chatham, Alexander, Auburn, Sherman,
Rochester, South Jacksonville, Pawnee, New Berlin, Waverly, Divernon,
Loami, Franklin, Murrayville, Woodson, Illinois State Fairgrounds,
Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, Literberry, and Jerome.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 55 between mile markers 77 and 103.
 Interstate 72 between mile markers 62 and 105.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
