The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Christian County in central Illinois...
  Northeastern Sangamon County in central Illinois...
  Macon County in central Illinois...

* Until 515 PM CDT.

* At 429 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Mount Auburn,
  or 19 miles north of Taylorville, moving east at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* This severe thunderstorm will be near...
  Illiopolis and Mount Auburn around 435 PM CDT.

Other locations in the path of this severe thunderstorm include
Decatur, Macon, Mount Zion and Long Creek.

This includes Interstate 72 between mile markers 115 and 144.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
