Survey Summary:

Straight line wind damage was observed through Daviess County as
the remnant circulation that produced the tornado in Knox County
become outflow dominant after the tornado lifted. While damage in
eastern Daviess County and extreme western Martin County was
sporadic, the most widespread tree damage occurred around West
Boggs Lake north of Loogootee where hundreds of trees were downed.
Trees were knocked down from east of Washington and north of
Montgomery and Cannelburg northeast to West Boggs Lake. Tree
damage in Daviess County supported wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph.

A large metal warehouse building sustained damage as wind entered
the structure under an awning on the south side of the building,
lifting the roof off the structure with debris found in the field
across the street. With a lack of damage elsewhere around the
building, it was determined that straight line winds were the
cause of the roof damage.
