Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
239 AM CST Thu Nov 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Areas of dense fog are ongoing in northeast, east and southern
districts fire districts this morning while patchy dense fog is
possible southeast of the Delta fire districts in the northwest.
At least patchy fog development will be possible in the south
again tonight into early Friday morning. A change to a wetter
pattern is expected Friday as a front moves into the area. This
will help maintain rain coverage through midday (half to three
quarters of an inch of rain from Friday to Saturday), drying out
Sunday. A strong cold front is anticipated to move in Monday
night into Tuesday, with rain and storms and soaking heavier rain
totals (1.5 to 2.5 inches). Pattern becomes less clear into mid
to late next week, but drier conditions may be possible during
this timeframe or slightly later.
