Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
346 AM CDT Mon Jun 24 2024

.DISCUSSION...A weak frontal boundary will drop south through the
area today. This will result in isolated to scattered showers, and
isolated thunderstorms across mainly central and southern portions
of the area today. This activity will quickly dissipate late this
afternoon and early evening as daytime heating wanes. Otherwise,
hot and humid conditions will exist areawide across the area
today through mid-week. Afternoon heat index values will
generally hover between 105-110 degrees both today and Tuesday.
As a result, a "Heat Advisory" is in effect for the entire area
both today and Tuesday. Fog development is not expected this
morning, but patchy ground fog will be possible early Tuesday
morning across southern portions of the area.
