Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
129 PM EDT Fri Aug 29 2025

...AREAS OF LOW DAYTIME DISPERSION TODAY AND SATURDAY...

.DISCUSSION...

A rainy pattern is expected through the weekend with a stalled front
laying across northern FL through most of the holiday weekend. The
highest chances for thunderstorms will be focused across NE FL, with
lessening chances across SE GA toward the end of the weekend. The
higher coverage of rain/cloud cover combined with fairly weak low
level flow will result in areas of low dispersions both today and
Saturday, becoming closer to fair by the latter half of the Holiday
weekend. Another cold front will slide down the southeastern coast
Sunday into Monday and shift winds to a northeasterly direction
through early next week.

FOG POTENTIAL AND OTHER REMARKS...Potential for patchy shallow fog
the next few mornings. Gusty and erratic winds are possible
with any thunderstorms.
