Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
114 PM EDT Sat Sep 12 2026

.DISCUSSION...

...PATCHY TO AREAS OF HIGH DISPWERSIONS TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
AFTERNOONS...

A trough of low pressure will stretch across the southeastern US
this weekend. High pressure will build to the northeast early next
week, and strengthen through mid week. As this high builds, an
inverted trough will develop east of the area. The gradient between
these two features will result in elevated winds Tuesday through
Thursday, especially at the coast. An inverted trough will settle
overhead late in the week into the weekend. Daily thunderstorm
chances are forecast, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours.
