The areas affected include... Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 NM... Waters from Altamaha Sound GA to Fernandina Beach FL from 20 to 60 NM... At 311 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and waterspouts. This thunderstorm was located 11 nm southwest of Tug Rio Caroni, or 15 nm southeast of Altamaha Sound, moving northwest at 15 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. Waterspouts are possible with this activity. If a waterspout occurs, move your boat away from it.
