Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 NM... * Until 500 PM EDT. * At 414 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Jekyll Island to 11 nm southwest of St Simons Island Village, moving northeast at 20 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... St Simons Island Village, St Simons Sound Buoy 9, Jekyll Island, Saint Andrews Sound, Buoy F, and St. Simons Island. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. If your vessel is caught offshore, immediately secure for heavy weather.
