Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
339 PM EST Thu Nov 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...A low pressure system will track from the Southern Plains
to the OH Valley and Appalachians through Friday night and Saturday.
The warm front in advance of this system will lift into the Commonwealth
from the TN Valley tonight and lift to near the OH River on Friday
afternoon and evening. This will result in rounds of showers and
isolated storms at times. Then as the low tracks through the Ohio
Valley late Friday night and Saturday, the cold front will drop across
eastern KY. Thus, shower chances along with the potential for a few
thunderstorms will continue Friday night and then decrease through
the day on Saturday. A wetting rain is expected across the entire
region from tonight into Saturday. Mainly dry weather is anticipated
from late Saturday through the day on Monday. However, another series
of systems will bring another chance for a wetting rain from Monday
night into Wednesday.
