Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky

.DISCUSSION...Showers and a few thunderstorms will accompany a cold
front this morning. Additional showers will be possible throughout the
day and temperatures will fall during the afternoon as the coldest
airmass so far this fall begins to arrive. Colder air will continue
to filter into the region tonight and into Monday and will combine
with passing disturbances for showers. Rain showers will mix with
and then change to snow showers by around midnight tonight and off
and on snow showers are anticipated into Monday evening. Some light
snow accumulations are anticipated in most locations, though in the
higher elevations near the VA border, moderate snow accumulations
are possible. Below normal temperatures are anticipated tonight through
Thursday with temperatures nearer to if not above normal to end
the week.
