Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
Issued by National Weather Service Charleston WV
1240 AM EDT Wed Jun 25 2025

.DISCUSSION...The ongoing heat wave will reach its peak intensity
today, courtesy of a strong upper level ridge. Temperatures are
expected to soar into the mid 90s for many locales this afternoon;
but, due to the humidity, it will feel closer to 105F. Though mainly
dry weather is expected through Thursday morning, a very isolated
popup shower or thunderstorm cannot be entirely ruled out in the
interim. Better shower and thunderstorm chances, as well as a
cooling trend, return to the forecast from Thursday afternoon onward
as the upper level pattern relaxes.
