Updates previous flash flood report from
Belfry. Video posted to social media at 5:33
PM showing flash flooding along Pond Creek
in Belfry. Pike County Emergency Management
reports that flood waters did not get up
onto US-119, but that floodwaters did
inundate alleys that back up to the river in
Belfry. The social media video was taken
from a residence along Murphy Bottom Road,
and neighboring Pine Street is a gentle
sloping alleyway road down to the waterway.
Water had inundated the backyards of these
residences, so Pine Street was likely an
alley road that got inundated. Pike County
EM also reports that a garage on Murphy
Bottom Road took on water from the flash
flooding.
