America, including The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary

height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

origin for the highest-energy waves, as well as any long-period
swells moving in a different direction than the wind.

.SYNOPSIS...
The flanks of a robust high pressure system offshore the Mid
Atlantic States will be will eroded by a low over the
northeastern United States and a deepening low well northeast of
the Bahamas. As a result, northeast to east breezes will undergo a
cycle of peaks and lulls as breezes fluctuate between light to
gentle and gentle to moderate through the remainder of the week.
In addition, drier air will be filtering in through the afternoon
and evening, leading to diminishing rain chances. A surface high
will develop across the Gulf beginning Friday, which may lead to
brief nocturnal wind surges along the west coast of Florida and
into the outer Gulf waters.
