Updates previous waterspout report from 3 NE
Key West. A mature waterspout was observed
by NWS meteorologists at the Florida Keys
NWS office and members of the public, north
of Stock Island. It was of medium width,
starting off mostly vertical, with the
condensation cloud extending fully from the
cloud base to the surface. A spray ring was
clearly visible for over 10 minutes. It was
situated east of a thunderstorm sitting
nearly stationary north of Key West.
            Movement was quickly southeastward,
estimated to be around 20 knots. Toward the
end of the lifecycle it entered Sunset
Marina on Stock Island, likely causing minor
damage to boats and deck items as seen in
videos submitted via social media. Shortly
before dissipating it was extremely tilted,
at an angle of approximately 60 degrees from
the parent cloud to the spray ring. It
dissipated around 6:59 PM EDT, with a
duration of at least 19 minutes.
