...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS TO THE EAST OF ELBOW CAY...

The areas affected include...
Straits of Florida from Ocean Reef to west end of Seven Mile Bridge
20 to 60 nm out...

At 658 AM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a
strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.
This thunderstorm was located 7 nm east of Elbow Cay. The
thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally
rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and
potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as
safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
