The areas affected include... Gulf of America including Dry Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel... At 614 AM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 13 nm northwest of Tortugas Ecological Reserve North. The thunderstorm was nearly stationary. The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and potentially blinding downpours.
