...STRONG THUNDERSTORM ENTERING DISTANT WESTERN STRAITS...

The areas affected include...
Straits of Florida from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to 20 nm west
of Dry Tortugas 20 to 60 nm out...

At 405 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a
strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.
This thunderstorm was located 50 nm south of Twenty-Eight Foot Shoal
Light, moving northwest at 25 knots.

The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally
rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and
potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as
safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
