Through 1230 pm, scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms will
move southeast to south at near 10 knots through the distant Straits
west of the island chain and northeast through the Straits and
nearshore waters of the Upper Keys. The stronger of the cells will be
capable of blinding downpours, wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, and
occasional lightning strike. Island communities, mainly near Key
West and Key Largo to Lower Matecumbe Key, will see around a quarter
to half of an inch of rain.
