Through 400 pm, isolated showers and perhaps a brief thunderstorm will
wax and wane over the Lower and Middle Keys, as well as the adjacent
nearshore Gulf waters and Hawk Channel. Mariners encountering the
stronger activity northeast of Snipe Point can expect wind gusts
near 25 knots, brief heavy downpours reducing visibility, and a rare
cloud to surface lightning strike. A few island communities between
Key West and Sugarloaf Key can expect up to a quick tenth to one
quarter of an inch at rainfall.
