.NOW...
Through 5:00 pm, scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms across
the eastern Straits of Florida, the SE Gulf waters, mainly to the
north and northeast of the Dry Tortugas, Florida Bay will continue to
slowly drift to the east to southeast over the next hour. The
activity over Florida Bay will move into the Upper Keys, especially
from Tavernier northeast to Ocean Reef, over the next hour or two.
Mariners encountering this activity can expect reduced visibility in
moderate to heavy downpours, wind gusts of near 25 knots, and
occasional lightning strikes. On land, rainfall amounts in the Upper
Keys from Tavernier to Ocean Reef may vary from a half to one inch
with locally in excess of 2 inches possible if this activity can hold
together.
