608 FPUS72 KKEY 290107 NOWKEY Short Term Forecast National Weather Service Key West FL 907 PM EDT Thu Aug 28 2025 GMZ033>035-044-055-072-290215- Gulf of America from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee 20 to 60 NM out and beyond 5 fathoms- Gulf of America including Dry Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel- Gulf of Mexico from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal out to 5 Fathoms- Hawk Channel from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal out to the reef- Straits of Florida from Halfmoon Shoal to 20 NM west of Dry Tortugas out 20 NM- Straits of Florida from Ocean Reef to Craig Key 20 to 60 NM out- 907 PM EDT Thu Aug 28 2025 .NOW... Through 1000 pm, widely scattered showers with possibly an embedded thunderstorm, will be found on the gulf waters from 20 nm west of mainland Monroe, to the vicinity of Halfmoon Shoal and the Marquesas Keys. A few other showers and possible thunderstorms will also be found over the distant Florida Straits off of the Upper Keys. This activity will move westward at 10 knots. The stronger cells will produce wind gusts near 25 knots, blinding downpours, and a rare lightning strike. $$
