.NOW...
Through 400 am, a few isolated showers and potential thunderstorms
will wax and wane across the Lower Keys, the distant Florida Straits
south and southeast of the island chain, as well as Hawk Channel
near the Lower Keys and the nearshore and deep Gulf north of the
Lower Keys. This activity will drift generally to the southwest at
near 5 knots, though individual cell motion is somewhat chaotic due
to the slow movement. Mariners encountering the strongest activity
can expect brief heavy downpours limiting visibility, wind gusts to
near 25 knots, and possible occasional lightning strikes. A few Lower
Keys island communities may receive up to a tenth of an inch of
rainfall accumulation.
