Through 500 pm, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will persist across the Florida Keys and the adjacent nearshore and offshore marine zones. This activity will generally propagate to the north to northwest at 5 to 10 knots. The strongest activity southeast of Alligator Reef Light in the eastern Straits of Florida out to 60 nm will produce blinding downpours, wind gusts to near 25 knots, and a few lightning strikes. Select island communities along the Florida Keys, particularly near Key Largo, may receive one quarter to one half inch of rainfall accumulation. $$
