Through 5 pm, numerous showers with isolated thunderstorms will move
east southeast at near 10 knots through the nearshore waters
surrounding the Lower Keys and Middle Keys, the deep Gulf waters and
surrounding the Dry Tortugas and the distant Straits. The stronger
of the activity is capable of blinding downpours, wind gusts of near 25
knots, and occasional lightning strikes. Island communities from
Sugarloaf Key to Marathon Key can expect a few tenths of an inch in
additional rainfall.
