Through 430 am, scattered showers and thunderstorms will track westward at 10 to 15 knots, through the near and offshore waters surrounding the Florida Keys, especially the southwestern Straits of Florida. This activity will produce wind gusts to near 30 knots over the water and near 25 mph on land, a few lightning strikes, and blinding downpours. For now, most of the activity remains over the water, however, if a shower or storm moves across the Island Chain, new rainfall amounts of a trace to up to a quarter of an inch will be possible. $$ MJV
