Through 1100 PM, widely scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms will continue to wax and wane across Hawk Channel and the Florida Straits, occasionally crossing the Lower Keys. Due to the light and variable wind flow, showers and thunderstorms have been moving in variable directions, but the general movement is to the northeast at 5 to 10 knots. Mariners encountering this activity may experience gusty and erratic winds of up to near 20 knots, reduced visibility from heavy downpours, and occasional lightning strikes. The Lower Keys may see additional rainfall amounts of up to half of an inch. $$
