Through 1230 AM, widely scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm or two will move west northwestward at 10 mph, over the Lower Keys and across the near through offshore Florida Straits. The stronger activity will produce wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph, blinding downpours, and possibly a few lightning strikes. Rainfall amounts of one half to one inch will be possible, particularly from Key West to Big Coppitt. Elsewhere, clusters of thunderstorms west of the Dry Tortugas will be capable of bouts of frequent lightning, extended periods of very poor visibility, and localized wind gusts 25 to 30 knots, all while remaining nearly stationary. $$
