Through 1030 am, scattered showers with isolated embedded thunderstorms will move generally to the north to northeast at near 10 knots through most of the Florida Keys coastal waters. The strongest of the thunderstorm activity will be in the Gulf side waters north of the Middle Keys, approximately 10 miles north of Marathon. Mariners encountering the stronger activity can expect brief blinding downpours, wind gusts to 25 knots, and a few cloud to surface lightning strikes. In addition, island communities mainly between Marathon and Islamorada, can expect a few tenths of an inch of rainfall. $$
