Through 630 PM, widely scattered showers with a stray embedded thunderstorm will continue to move west to northwest at 10 to 15 knots across the waters surrounding the Florida Keys. The strongest activity will move across the nearshore waters of the Lower Keys, approximately 10 miles northwest of Key West and just to the south of Smith Shoal Light. Within the strongest activity, mariners may experience gusty and erratic winds of near 25 to 30 knots, heavy downpours reducing visibility, and a stray lightning strike. In addition, island communities, primarily the Lower Keys, may see new rainfall amounts of a quarter to a half of an inch. $$
