Through 10 am, widely scattered showers and potentially isolated
thunderstorms will wax and wane and generally move west-northwest at
5 to 10 knots. Most of the activity is concentrated across the
nearshore waters of the Florida Keys with lesser activity across the
Straits of Florida. Mariners encountering the stronger of the
activity can expect blinding downpours, wind gusts to near 25 knots
and brief bouts of lightning. Select island communities in the Upper
Keys could receive a quarter of an inch of rainfall with locally
higher amounts.
