.SHORT TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 341 AM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025

The main concern in the short term will be the fog
potential. Expect fog to develop early this morning across southwest
Nebraska, with generally patchy fog expected in low lying areas and
along the river valley. The greater fog coverage will be across far
southwest Nebraska closer to the border where fog the coverage is
expected to be greater. Fog is expected to lift by mid morning,
however southerly flow will continue to advect moisture into
southwest Nebraska and there may be a lingering stratus deck that
holds on til closer to noon. Will have to monitor how quickly the
stratus moves out of the area as this could potentially impact
temperatures across southwest Nebraska if stratus lingers past noon
and could potentially see temperatures not reaching the upper 70s to
low 80s. At the moment models have the frontal boundary moving in
from the west and should help to move stratus eastward and out of
the forecast area by late morning.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 341 AM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025

An upper level ridge will be in place Friday keeping mild
temperatures in place with highs in the 70s, which is 5 to 10
degrees above normal. A disturbance moves in late Friday along with
a chance of precipitation starting Friday afternoon into Saturday
morning. Precipitation chances will be isolated and qpf will remain
low. Temperatures will remain above normal for Sunday with highs in
the upper 70s to low 80s. A front will move through Sunday night
into Monday with highs on Monday in the low 60s.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z FRIDAY/...
Issued at 1214 AM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025

The main aviation concerns will be LLWS at the KLBF terminal
until 12Z, followed by IFR/LIFR ceilings. Stratus and fog will
develop across portions of the western Sandhills before 12Z and
spread east across southwest Nebraska during the morning.
Lowest CIGS and VSBY at KLBF 4SM BR OVC004 14Z-16Z improving to
VFR by 17Z. Exact timing of onset of stratus and fog uncertain,
with lower ceilings and visibilities possible. VFR conditions
expected at KVTN the next 24 hours.
