.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Issued at 409 AM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025

Patchy fog is possible once again tonight as a similar set up
as yesterday morning is in place with light southeast winds and
monsoonal low level moisture. Don`t expect widespread fog across
the area and although visibilities will drop, it is not
anticipated to be widespread at 1/4 mile, thus no headlines have
been issued for fog. Patchy fog is expected to dissipate by
mid-morning as winds increase and temperatures rise.

As for thunderstorm chances this afternoon and evening, the greatest
potential will generally be along and west of HWY 83 for strong to
severe thunderstorms. A lee trof will move into western Nebraska and
become the axis of focus for thunderstorm development this
afternoon. Although there will be some patchy fog and stratus in the
morning, low clouds are expected to lift by morning and
temperatures will warm through the afternoon, with modest
instability expected. Modest shear is also expected around 30 to
40 kts, with 1500 to 2000 J/kg of CAPE. Expect the mode to
generally be multi-cell with the primary hazard being hail and
secondary threats of damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall. WPC
has portions of southwest and north central Nebraska in a
slight risk for excessive rainfall today. Expect most convection
to hold off until late afternoon and evening with storms
possibly lingering through the overnight.

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Issued at 409 AM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025

Another disturbance will move through on Saturday and will
bring the potential for showers and thunderstorms. At this time
severe weather is not expected, however heavy rainfall will be
possible. Shift of Tails highlights areas of north central and
central Nebraska for the area of greatest potential for higher
confidence where heavy rainfall may fall. WPC has this area
outlooked in a slight risk for excessive rainfall. Heavy
rainfall may linger through Sunday overnight for portions of
north central Nebraska. Temperatures remain below normal this
weekend into early next week with highs in the 70s to low 80s. A
cold front is expected to move through Tuesday bringing even
cooler temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the
upper 60s to mid 70s.

.AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z SATURDAY/...

through early afternoon. Cigs will lift in the afternoon and VFR
conditions will return for the afternoon and early evening
hours. Then lower cigs will return in the evening hours with
