.DISCUSSION...
Near critical fire weather concerns will persist for portions of
western and southwest Nebraska into this evening. This is due to
a combination of northwest winds gusting in excess of 40 miles per
hour and mild and dry conditions. Winds will weaken this evening
and become light overnight.
Cooler temperatures, increased humidity, and a threat for wetting
moisture then keeps fire concerns low Monday and Tuesday.
Temperatures warm back into the 70s to 80s Wednesday, though
humidity looks to remain elevated. That said, gusty south winds
are expected again Wednesday afternoon.
A cold front brings a return of cooler temperatures and breezy
northwest winds for late week. At this time, humidity looks to
remain elevated enough to preclude elevated fire concerns, but
this will need to be monitored.
