.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns remain low through the next 7 days due to
generally below-normal temperatures and increased rain potential.
Temperatures will remain on the cooler side to end August and
begin September. The exception to this would be Monday/Tuesday
where a few locations may recover to the low to middle 80s. This
will likely be brief as another cool front drops south into the
area and allows many locations to fall back to 60s and 70s for
Wednesday through Friday.
Rain, potentially heavy, will be likely over the next 24-36 hours.
This will favor areas east of Highway 83 and closer to central
Nebraska where a few locations may exceed 2" total rainfall
through Sunday morning. Further west, though precipitation amounts
should be less, the potential for wetting rains (>0.25") remains
reasonable at around 40 percent.
