.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns are expected to remain generally low across
western and north central Nebraska over the next several days, as
cooler temperatures and near daily chances of precipitation
continue. This weekend may bring wetting rainfall across most of
the region, as showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday
evening through Sunday morning, with potential for heavy rainfall
at times.
Temperatures are expected to return closer to normal Monday and
Tuesday, as highs may push into the low to mid 80s. This may bring
the potential for elevated fire weather concerns across the
Panhandle and Pine Ridge, as humidity values drop around 25 to 30
percent in the afternoon. There is also some potential for gustier
winds on Monday and Tuesday, with gusts up to 20 mph expected at
this time. However, these concerns may become more limited if
heavier precipitation occurs this weekend.
