.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns will generally remain low over the upcoming
week.
Though temperatures will favor above normal values for much of the
forecast period, little if any overlap of stronger winds and sub
30 percent humidity should preclude greater concerns. Warmer
temperatures arrive Saturday with highs in the middle 70s to
middle 80s. A surge of drier air should move off the higher
terrain but should favor the far southern Panhandle into northeast
Colorado and remain west of Zones 204 and 210.
Following a cooler day on Sunday, warmer temperatures return for
Monday through the remainder of the week. Winds will increase on
Monday with southerly gusts nearing 40 mph but humidity minimums
appear likely to remain above 35 percent. Wind concerns decrease
for the remainder of the week though temperatures remain very warm
for early October. Rainfall prospects are negligible this week
with ensembles suggesting less than ten percent potential to see a
tenth of an inch or more anywhere in the state until a pattern
change arrives next weekend which could promote some modest
potential in the area. Confidence in details remains low however.
