365 FNUS53 KLBF 170833 FWFLBF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western and North Central for Nebraska National Weather Service North Platte NE 333 AM CDT Tue Jun 17 2025 .DISCUSSION... Fire weather concerns remain low through the middle of the week before a significant warm up with highs climbing into the triple digits leads to increasing concern. Today and Wednesday, multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms appear probable with the first being early this morning and the second favoring the afternoon and early evening. While some severe threat is possible, conditions are unlikely to match Monday evening`s events. Heavy rain does appear likely and the going forecast calls for rainfall totals of 0.75-1.50" total through Wednesday morning. Temperatures remain near to slightly below seasonable values for both Tuesday and Wednesday which will keep afternoon humidity minimums safely above critical levels. For Thursday and beyond, an intense heat wave is looking increasingly likely. Forecast highs will climb into the 90s and eventually the triple digits by Friday and Saturday. With afternoon highs nearing 15-20 degrees above normal each afternoon, will potentially see relative humidity values fall into the middle teens across our southwest. While breezy conditions appear possible each day, doubts on fuel receptiveness following recent reports and rainfall will limit overall concern. Will see increasing rain and thunderstorm potential return next week with the threat for wetting rains appearing possible.
