.DISCUSSION...
Steady easterly winds under overcast skies should continue through
much of Wednesday evening. Speeds should subside slightly in
vicinity of the fire at or below 10 mph and stronger gusts just
east in central Antelope County. Regarding precipitation, a slight
chance for precipitation is in place, increasing to chance
categories by this evening. Rainfall intensity should remain
light, generally a few hundredths of an inch per hour for much of
the evening and overnight, but persist long enough with few long
duration breaks yielding wetting precipitation. A gradual wind increase
appears probable early Thursday morning with flow becoming
northerly and speeds around 10-15 mph and sporadic gusts to 20
mph. Lows tonight with rainfall will settle in the middle 30s with
great humidity recovery likely exceeding 95%.
For Thursday, precipitation should persist through the morning
with a notable break likely for the afternoon and early evening.
Temperatures will be on the cooler side, generally in the middle
40s. With the cooler temperatures and precipitation in the area,
expect afternoon humidity minimums to remain high around 65-75%.
Winds will largely favor the north through much of the day with a
transition to southeast likely by early evening while remaining at
or below 20 mph for the entire timeframe.
