...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 06/20/24 BROWN COUNTY TORNADO EVENT...
...TWO EF-1 TORNADOES TOUCH DOWN IN RURAL BROWN COUNTY

An isolated supercell developed along a warm front and remained
nearly stationary during the early evening hours on Thursday, June
20, 2024. The supercell impacted areas south of Highway 20 from
Ainsworth to Long Pine. The supercell produced at least two
brief tornadoes.

This tornado impacted a farmstead north of Hofeld Lake. The
tornado traveled through a wetland that is now flooded due to
heavy rainfall. Damage was observed to a single wide home and
several outbuildings, but in depth analysis was not able to be
conducted due to the deep water.

This tornado remained over open terrain of far eastern Brown
County. Damage to trees was observed due to the tornado, however
determination of path length and width was impossible due to
impassable saturated terrain. This tornado was observed by several
storm spotters and storm chasers before becoming rain wrapped.


EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale Classifies Tornadoes into the
following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph
EF4...Violent...166 To 200 mph
EF5...Violent...>200 mph
