  week.

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Friday night)
Issued at 1159 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Dry and clear weather will continue as another dry cold front
moves across the region. Still no real cold front in the forecast
but the dry air from the front will help lower dew points across
the region.

Isolated showers remain in the forecast for tomorrow but after
that the dry airmass will be down to the coast, removing the
chance for rain until the end of weekend. This dry stable airmass
will drop PWATs between 1.3 and 1.5 inches.

Temperatures will slowly rise as clear skies and widespread
subsidence will bring our highs back into the mid to upper 90s on
Thursday and Friday. Thankfully low dew points will keep our heat
index below 100.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through next Tuesday)
Issued at 1159 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Through most of the weekend dry air and subsidence will lead to
more clear skies and calm conditions. On Sunday evening the
remnants of a tropical disturbance will start to move into the
area. Overcast skies and widespread showers will be the main
impacts of the area. By the time this system makes it to the Gulf
coast most of the energy will be gone with only minor impacts
expected at this time. For the rest of the week we are looking at
a cooling trend with overcast skies.

Temperatures will decrease as the overcast skies move in and the
subsidence moves to the east. High temperatures will be in the 80s
across the region. &&

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1159 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

VFR conditions will continue through the night with a chance for
patchy fog near sunrise. During the day conditions will be VFR.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 1159 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Waves are between 2 and 4 feet across the region, with higher
waves to the east. Winds will remain below 15 knots through the
week and from the east to northeast.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 1159 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Consistent showers this summer have put a lid on fire weather,
with no parts of our region in official drought or even D-0
condition. This week will see a dry pattern with clear skies; in
addition, minimum RH values in the afternoon will be around 40%
for central Louisiana and interior portions of southeast Texas.
Weak winds will be the main limiting factor, with wind gusts
staying below 10 mph through the end of the week.
