(Today through Thursday) Issued at 1221 AM CDT Fri Sep 11 2026 The subtropical ridge remains stretched from the Atlantic into the northern gulf coast this morning. This continues to feed gulf moisture into SE TX and southern LA. Aloft, the ridge that has been over the much of the deep south has been eroded by a short wave over north TX and AR. A weak cold front is also over North TX and central AR, however the boundary will not make it to the local area. Today scattered to numerous storms are anticipated. The upper ridge has weakened and PWATs are running over the 90th percentile. With diurnal heating convection should get underway fairly early. Much of the same is anticipated Saturday. Very heavy rain may occur at times. Localized flooding could be a concern if a storm lingers over any metro area. Scattered to numerous afternoon storms are again anticipated Sunday, however coverage will be less than the previous days as a ridge begins to build aloft once again. Thunderstorm coverage will decrease farther into next week as a ridge lingers over the southeast states. Isolated to scattered afternoon storms will still be possible along the sea breeze each afternoon. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 618 AM CDT Fri Sep 11 2026 Some patchy ground fog with brief MVFR conditions will be possible until shortly after sunrise. Also, a few nocturnal Gulf showers may reach KARA this morning so will have VCSH to start off with at that terminal. Looking like an activity sea breeze today with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms developing between 11/15-18z, with activity increasing after 11/18z. Will go with PROB30 at all terminals with the exception on KAEX, which will just have VCTS. Some IFR/MVFR conditions with gusty winds possible if shower activity moves over terminals, otherwise, VFR away from the convection. Shower activity will decrease by sunset and 12/02z. 07/Rua && .MARINE... Seas will also remain low. && .FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 1221 AM CDT Fri Sep 11 2026 High rain chances will linger through Sunday.
