...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, AVIATION, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Areas of fog will clear through the mid morning hours today.
  Increasing cloud cover will limit fog potential during next few
  days.

- Precipitation chances return tomorrow night into Friday ahead of
  a Pacific cold front that will reach the area late in the week.

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Friday night)

Benign forecast will prevail until later Thursday when rain
chances start filtering in ahead of an approaching frontal system.
Increasing cloud cover will help to limit fog development Thursday
morning, however with an increase in overall moisture entrainment,
a dense fog advisory has been issued for areas along and south of
I-10.

Rain chances should largely increase into Friday morning. Although
chances will be increasing, expected rainfall totals will be
rather low, around 0.50 inches.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through next Tuesday)

The front hangs up in the region as upper low ejects off to the
north and east US keeping rainfall in the forecast through
Tuesday. On Tuesday, deeply amplified trof is expected to swing
across the central US bringing in a much cooler airmass.

Scattered cloud cover and southeast winds are ongoing across the
region. Expect this to prevail over the rest of the day. Another
night of fog is possible with most sites being impacted through
Thursday AM. Cloud cover overnight could help to limit fog
development, but areas of dense fog is still anticipated.

.MARINE...

Late in the work week, a deeply amplified weather system will be
approaching from the west bringing about stronger onshore winds
and periods of showers and thunderstorms. Winds and seas will
gradually increase from early Thursday into Friday.

Inland fog has been spilling over into area lakes and bays, thus a
Marine Dense Fog advisory has been issued for Thursday morning.

.FIRE WEATHER...

Moisture continues filtering into the region ahead of an
approaching frontal passage later this week and weekend. Light
rain chances return late Thursday into Friday. Rainfall totals are
not anticipated to be very high.
